Ceylon. (Royal Netherlands Navy). 1945. Stamp-less envelope written from 'H.H. Smuts, Serg. Marcht 10364, c/o C. in C. Royal Netherlands Naval Forces, Postbox 588, Colombo, Ceylon' addressed to 'Maastricht, Netherlands, c/o Netherlands Red Cross, 120 Pall Mall, London SW5' with framed 'Crown/ Royal Netherlands Navy/ Passed by Censor/ Date & Signature of Officer' with adjacent boxed 'On Active Service' on face and reverse in violet with London 'Opened by Examiner/ 6274' censor tape.
Lovely item, forwarded via the Red Cross in London, no German censor tape so had to arrive after 5th May 1945 the liberation by the Allies of the Netherlands.
