Registered and 'Advice of Receipt' Hawaii 'Provisional Government/ 1893' postal stationery 10 cent black envelope upgraded with SG 62, 10c black (red overprint) and SG 71, 10c red-brown (black overprint) tied by concentric ring obliteration with circular 'Honolulu/ Hawaii date stamp in carmine 'Nov 11 1903' with hand-struck 'R/ 8642' and hand-stamped 'A.R.' on face, addressed to England with hooded Registered/ London and Birmingham on reverse '2nd Dec'. Very attractive Advice of Receipt postal stationery used during the 'Provisional Government period.
After the Queen sought a 'coup d' etat' on the 14th January 1893 to restore the old constitution, a counter revolution took place with the landing of US. Marines and a Provisional Government was formed. The abolition of the Monarchy was proclaimed on Jan 17th and never restored.
