Malaya. (Netherlands East Indies - Red Cross). 1941. Netherlands Indies Red Cross Air Mail envelope addressed to 'Au Bureau International De Las Croix Rouge/ Palais du Conseil General, Geneve, (Suisse) written from 'Barrack Road 13, Penang, Straits Settlements' bearing Straits Settlements SG 287, 30c orange and purple (pair) tied by Penang/ Malaya double ring '25th Jan 41' with triangular 'Passed For Transmission/ 8' in violet on face and 'Opened by Censor/ 487' censor label. A small number of Red Cross envelopes were sent to the Netherlands Consuls in Hong Kong, Singapore and Penang for the use of Dutch citizens. A very rare item.
