Thailand. (Prisoner of War Camps in India). 1918. Picture post card of 'Siamese Women, Bangkok' addressed to 'W. Engelhardt, (No 2160), Prisoner of War Camp, Ahmednagor, India' endorsed 'Service of Prisoners of War', cancelled by Bangkok/ 2 date stamp '2nd August 18.'

Siam declared war on Germany and Austria on the 22nd July 1917, all German and Austrians residing in Siam were placed under arrest, businesses closed and nine steamers had been seized.

The Prisoners of War were held in Bangkok Internee Camp and the Siam German Concentration Camp, Ayudhya.

On the 13th February 1918 the Germans (180 men, 90 women and children) departed on the "Pia Samud" and 'Den Samud" for Ahmednagar Camp in India for the duration of the War.
