On 19th February 1919, 1/6th Bn The Gloucestershire Regiment (which had served in Italy in 144th Brigade) was sent to Scutari to emphasise the Allied character of control in Albania. Only a small detachment of Troops remained from May 1919.
The Albanian case for Independence was heard at the Paris Peace Conference on 24th February 1919.
Mail from the Troops in Albania was passed though Army Post Office S 100 at Taranto, Italy but may be identified by the Battalion's censor hand-stamp No 433 which was used for part of the time in Albania.
A very fine view card from Shkodra with Censor No 433.
