Registered Australian postal stationery envelope 5 1/2d bistre-brown written from 'Balikpapan, Borneo' addressed to Hobart, Tasmania cancelled by 'Air Force Post Office/ No 254' date stamp '12th Oct 45' with framed hand-stamp 'R/ Air Force P.O. No' in violet on face, endorsed 'No 1519', routed via Brisbane and Hobart, Tasmania with Registration arrival '16th October.'
The Australian Air Force Post Office No 254 was based on the Dutch East Indies island of Borneo at Balikpapan from (3.7.45.) - (12.1.46.).
A very fine item of registered mail.
