Box 575, Awali' addressed to England bearing Bahrain SG 87,, 6a on 6d purple tied by Awali/ Bahrain double ring '12th Sept 54', underpaid with hand-stuck 'T' and bearing Great Britain postage due SG D 39, 1s ochre applied and tied by oval Registered/ Altringham Cheshire receiver '17th Sept' with adjacent '1/- / I,.S. / E.' hand-stamp on face.
Very nice combination with Bahrain and hand-struck postage due, The cover should have paid the twelve annas double Air Mail rate to UK so underpaid and taxed. Scarce usage of the Indian Postal period tax hand-stamp used pre 1948.
