British Occupation of Italian Colonies. (Dodecanese). 1947. Envelope addressed to New York bearing Middle East Forces SG M13, 2 1/2d pale blue and SG M14, 3d pale violet tied by Symi/ Dodecanese date stamp '21st Mar 47.' Very fine.
Symi was occupied by the Italians during and after WW1. On October 12 1943 the Nazis occupied the island until the surrender of German forces which resulted in three years of British Occupation.
