Registered Air Mail envelope written from 'Barclays Bank (Dominion, Colonial and Overseas), Asmara, Eritrea' envelope addressed to 'Barclays Bank, Nairobi' bearing Middle East Forces 1d scarlet (17), 2d orange (16). 2 1/2d ultramarine (18), 3d violet (19) and 5d brown (17) tied by Asmara/ Central date stamp '28th Aug 42' with matching registration label and circular 'Passed By/ Passato Per Censura/ 1 Censor' in blue on face and 'Examined By Censor/ Verificato Per Censure/ 2' label (2) tied by circular ' 'Passed By/Passato Per Censura/ 10' in violet on reverse.

A wonderful franking paying 'twenty shillings and nine pence' Registered Air Mail fee with a mixture of overprints 13 1/2m long with square and round stops.
Enormous catalogue value on stamps and scarce Eritrea censor tape )only one date recorded by Mike White) and hand-stamp censor No 1 not recorded by John Little in 'British Empire Civil Censorship Devices WW2'.
