Pacific Islands. (British Solomon Islands). 1945. Envelope written from the 'Rev. Luxton, c/o Resident Commissioner, Br. Solomon's' (written from Munda, New Georgia) addressed to Auckland bearing SG 61, 1d violet and brown (pair) tied by Tulagi date stamp with framed 'Opened by Censor' label (post occupation) with oval 'Opened by/ Censor' cachet and signed on face.
Rev. Luxton was the 1st European to return to Vella Lavella after the Americans left 88th June 1944. Nice item.
