British Solomon Islands. (Japanese Naval Forces in Rabaul). 1942. Illustrated Post card hand-drawn 'monkey eating bananas' written from 'Yoji Watanabe, 8921 Unit, South Sea Dispatch' addressed to Nagoya City with framed 'Censored' and circular censor seal of "SHIBUYA" in orange dated '9th August 1942'.
Infantry 38th Division had occupied Hong Kong, Dutch Indies (Java) and Guadalcanal and by August 42 was in Rabaul, New Guinea.
