British Solomon Islands- (Australia - Postage Due Mail). 1944. Envelope addressed to 'Mr L.M. Davis, Lunga, British Solomon Islands' bearing Australia SG 204, 1 1/2d green tied by Sydney date stamp '6th June' with '2/ Opened By Censor' label (red on white) tied by triangular '2/ Opened By Censor/ 1187' in violet on face, underpaid with British Solomon Islands postage due SG D2, 2d scarlet applied and tied by Lunga/ British Solomon Ids. date stamp '8th Nov 44' on face.

In July 1944 the Lunga Post Office moved to the Camp of the New Zealand 3rd Division near Point Cruz but kept the Lunga circular date stamp.

"L.M. Davis" was prior to the Japanese invasion the Postmaster at Tulagi.
