Stamp-less envelope written from Montego Bay, Jamaica dated 'June 14th 1776' addressed to London, endorsed 'per ship "St. James", Master Capt. Stewart Q.D.C. 'Quem Deus Conservet' (Whom God Preserve), landed at Dover with hand-struck 'Dover/ Ship Lre.' in black on face (Robertson S.3), with m/s '4' ship letter and rated '6' inland letter charge, with faint London receiver on reverse.
