Great Britain. (Andaman Islands - Incoming Mail). 1901. Picture post card of 'Siam' addressed to 'Harold Buxton Esq., 8th Madras Regiment, Port Blair, Andaman Islands' bearing Great Brtain SG 172, 1d lilac tied by Willesden double ring 'Jy 19' with Sea Post Office transit '29th July' and Port Blair arrival '2nd Aug 1901'.

By 1858 the Andaman Islands had become a Penal Settlement. The 8th Madras Regiment was based in Port Blair and Ross Island. Mail into the islands is scarce, very fine item.
