Cambodia. (French Indo-China). 1897. Registered envelope addressed to France bearing French Indo-China SG 8, 5c green and SG 11, 15c blue (3) tied by Kampot/ Cambodge double ring '28th Nov 97' with framed hand-struck 'R' in red, routed via Hatien/ Cochinchine '29/11' with French entry cachet 'Modane a Paris' in red '2nd Jan 98' and Blois arrival '3rd Jan' and forwarded to Paris with circular '2/4' 'Postman's chop' and reverse and endorsed 'Post a Blois'.
Registered mail from Kampot in 1897 is extremely rare as the notation '210' on the envelope indicates, this the number of registered letters sent up to November 28. Exhibition item.
