Envelope addressed to 'The Basel Mission, Buea, Camerouns' bearing French Cameroun Yvert 139, 55c blue and carmine (pair) and Yvert 172, 45c blue-green tied by N'Gongsamba date stamp '16th Mar 42' with circular 'Control Postal/ Commission A/ Territoire du Cameroun' and routed via Senegal with 'Controle Postal Militaire' censor tape tied by oval 'Ouvert/ Par/ L'Autorite Militaire' with 'A/5' censor cachet and framed horseshoe 'Censor' in carmine on face with 'Victoria-Cameroons/ Under British Mandate' and 'Buea-Cameroons/ Under British Mandate' arrival '30 Mars 42' on reverse. The cover has been taxed with boxed 'T/1f' hand-stamp but not charged. Very attractive item. Ex Maddocks.
