Camerouns. (Nigeria). 1941. Air Mail envelope addressed to England bearing French Cameroun Yvert 228, 2f25 blue (pair) tied by Douala date stamp '4th Juil 41', endorsed 'Par Avion/ jusqu a Lagos' with 'Control Postal Militaire' censor label tied by oval 'Ouvert/ Par/ L'Autorite Militaire' with triangular 'L/2' censor cachet in red and framed 'Passed by Censor/ Nigeria/ 12' in carmine with Lagos transit and parallel bars in red applied in Lagos to indicate the cover is to be forwarded by surface mail to office of exchange. Superb item with scarce negative seal censor. Ex Maddocks and mentioned in his book.
