Ceylon. (Egypt). 1944. Red Cross Envelope headed 'Comitato Internazionale Della Croce Rossa/ Delegazione Italia Centrale, Roma' addressed to the 'Comite International de la Croix Rouge, Colombo, Ceylon' bearing Egypt Yvert 187, 1m yellow, Yvert 191a, 6m grass green and Yvert 192, 10m violet tied by Cairo date stamp '26th Oct' with boxed 'Crown/ Passed L/1' hand-stamp and framed instructional 'Passed For Censorship/ To (Colombo) in violet on face. Only one other 'Passed For Censorship/ To' hand-stamp has been recorded (India) illustrated on Page 72 of CCSG book. This rare censor may well be associated with POW or Internee mail. Ex Dan Mayo.
