Registered Air Mail envelope headed 'On Active Service' written from from 'Dr Major Scouten, Colombo' addressed to 'Madame Schouten, Holland' bearing Ceylon SG 386, 2c black and carmine, SG 387, 3c black and green, SG 387f, 5c orange and green, SG 39, 15c green and brown, SG 394, 50c purple and black and SG 395, 1r brown and violet tied by Kandy/ Registered double ring matching registration label and framed 'O.A.T.' in red on face, Major Dr. Schouten had been a Doctor at the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army, Camp Columbia, Wacol, Brisbane and served with the 'RAPWI' (Recovery of Allied Prisoner of War and Internees) in the Dutch Indies, Timor and Thailand, The NEI Government in Exile was quartered in Camp Columbia from 1944. Very fine item from Major Schouten on his way home from the East Indies and Australia.
