Chile. (Liberia - Nigeria). 1942. Air Mail envelope addressed to '2nd Lient. Tom Moodie, 8th Battalion, Nigeria Regt. c/o A.P.O.S. 102/ West African Forces' bearing Chile Yvert 33a, 40c grey, Yvert 38, 1p slate, Yvert 43, 6p brown and Yvert 45, 10p carmine tied by Valparaiso date stamp '13th Nov 42', endorsed 'By Pan-Agra via Buenos Aires/ Brazil y Guinea Portuges 'Bolama' and hand-stamped 'Par Avion de Buenos Aires - (Monrovia).' routed via Puerto Rico with 'Examined/ 14023' United States censor in Puerto Rico, forwarded over the Atlantic with Monrovia (Liberia) transit on reverse '17th Sept 43' and Cotonou/ Dahomey transit '11th Oct 43', m/s forwarded '6/ NR' in red crayon indicating the 6th Regiment had left Nigeria for India.
The eighth regiment was at Kauna, Nigeria in September 1942 and the 6th Regiment whom the cover is re-addressed to had left Nigeria for India 28th September 1943.
