"Dresden", Chile' endorsed 'Service des Prisonniers de Guerre' addressed to 'Comite International de la Croix Rouge, Agence International des Prisonniers de Guerre, Suisse' cancelled by Concepcion/ Chile date stamp '31st May 17', with circular 'Controle Postal Militaire/ Controle 348' censor hand-stamp in carmine on face and Geneve arrival '18 Aug' on reverse.
The 'SMS "Dresden" escaped the Battle of Falklands and retreated into the Pacific Ocean to raid on Allied ships. A British squadron HMS 'Kent" and "Glasgow" found the "Dresden: in Mas a Tierra Bay Island and sunk her. The 315 of "Dresden's" crew were interned for the War on QUIRIQUINA ISLAND in the Bay of Conception.
