May, Signal Section, Att 135th Field Regiment, A.P.O. No 1635, Singapore, British Prisoner of War, c/o Japanese Red Cross, Tokyo' cancelled Norwood '25th Jan 43' with 'Opened by Examiner /5885' censor label and endorsed by the 'Bre' in Singapore 'OVS 27/10/42' with boxed 'Sazawabutai'' (Sazawa Unit) and oval ''Iwasugi'' censor seal in red and endorsed 'No 6' in red crayon (Indicating Signalman May was in Camp 6, Taihoku'. Signalman May was taken Prisoner by the Japanese with the fall of Singapore 'Feb 15th 1942' and sailed from Singapore on the 'Dai Nichi Maru' with 500 hundred other POW's to Taiwan.
