Registered Air Mail envelope addressed to France bearing 'Communist Conquest and Post War Inflation' SG 968, $100,000 orange and green (3), SG 971, $500,000 indigo and green and 'Philatelic Exhibition' SG 1001, $5,000 claret, SG 1002, $5,000 blue-green and SG 1008, $10,000 on $20 carmine tied by Tsingtao date stamp '18th July 48' with matching registration label and bilingual 'Par Avion'. Very attractive franking from the Communist and Inflation period.
Japan surrendered to the Allies in August 1945 and a race ensued between the Nationalists and Communists to seize control of the former Japanese Occupied areas until the Communist victory at the battle of Hwai-Hai in January 1949. During this period inflation increased rapidly until the introduction of the Silver Yuan in May 1949.
