China. (French Territory in Kouang - Tcheou - Wan). 1905. Picture post card of 'Unloading at the Wharf, Ma-Tche (Quang-Tcheou)' addressed to Kouang-Tcheou bearing French Indo-China SG 24, 10c rose tied by Fort Bayard/ Chine double ring '24th Nov 05.' Desrousseaux Type (2gr). Very fine.

The leased Territory of Kouang-Tcheou-Wan in China was leased to France and administered by French Indo-China. The French Occupied the territory for 99 years from 1898 until 1997 as the British in Hong Kong.
Japan occupied the territory in WW2 and returned in 1945 to France.

Postal history is scarce with small towns like Potsi, Taiping, Po-Tao and Point-Nivet being sort after.
The Tche-Kang 1900 stampless envelope in Dr Ed Grabowski sale fetched 26,000 GBP.
