No (209) in violet, addressed to Tsingtau cancelled by Itschang/ Deutsche Post (Chine) date stamp '14th Feb 08' with circular 'Kaiserliches Kommando / Briefstemplel/ S.M.S. Vorwaerts' on reverse and Tsingtau/ Kiautschou receiver '25/2'.
Very fine item of military mail from the German Gunboat "S.M.S. Vorwaerts" based in Tsingtau and patrolling the Yangtze river.
