Envelope written from La Havre addressed to New York bearing France 'Napoleon' Yvert 32, 80c rose tied by '769' in lozenge with adjacent Le Havre '23rd Nov', framed 'P.P.' in red, endorsed 'per Steamer "Minesotta" le Liverpool' with 'London/Paid' in red on face and 'British Sea Post Office, Liverpool' segmented ring (Robertson M. 1) on reverse and circular 'New York Ship Letter/ 4' dated 'Dec 8'.

Superb item sent on the 'Guion Line' steamer "S.S. Minnesota" in service 1867 - 1875. This Trans-Atlantic cover sent in the first year of service.
