China. (French China - French Naval Forces). 1937. Stamp-less envelope endorsed 'F.M.' addressed to France written from the French cruiser "Primauguet" cancelled by octagonal 'Croiseur "Primauguet" date stamp '27th Nov 37' with bold hand-stamp 'Mers De Chine/ Franchise Militaire' on face and Marseille arrival on reverse dated '27th Dec 37'.

The "Primauguet" was one of the first cruisers built for the French Navy after WW1 in 1924. She served in the south China Seas and sank after coming under heavy attack from the American battleship "Wichita" at Casablanca in 1942.

Desrousseaux in volume 4 of his French China classic 7 volume livers places the "Primauguet" in Dairen, Manchuria from 1935 - 1937.
