French China. (French Naval Forces in China). 1946. Stamp-less envelope endorsed 'F.M.' , addressed to France written from the French cruiser "Suffren" cancelled by octagonal 'Croiseur "Suffren" date stamp '26th Aout 46' with framed 'FNEO' (Forces Naval Extreme Orient) with Trebeurden arrival '7th Sept' 46' on reverse.

The "Suffren" returned to Indo-China arriving in Saigon on 25th Feb 1946'. She spent her time between Saigon and Ha Long Bay and repatriating troops left in Hong Kong and China.

The 'F.N.E.O.' (Forces Naval Extreme Orient) is a scarce cachet, not listed by 'Desrousseaux' in his 7 volume work on French China and French Indo-China.
