French Colonies. (New Caledonia). 1874. Stamp-less envelope addressed to France cancelled by Nlle-Caledonie/ Noumea double ring '17th Juin 74' with framed 'PD' and French entry cachet 'Paq. Suez a Marseille' in red, routed via Marseille with Paris arrival and forwarded.
Noted by Cavendish to be an early 'Cash Paid' envelope during the stamp shortage period of 1874 to 1877.
