Envelope addressed to Belgium bearing French General Colonies Yvert 23, 25c blue tied by Reunion/ St. Denis date stamp '18th Juin 1880' with adjacent strike and triangular 'T' hand-stamp in blue, sent on the steamer "Alphee" with octagonal French paquebot 'Col. Fr. T No ' date stamp in red 'Juin 19' (Salles 2148) and French entry cachet 'Indo-Chine Paq. Fr. Modane' on face (Salles 1897) and charged with hand-struck '2' on arrival with Paris/ Midi ambulant and Anvers receiver '13th Juil 1880' on reverse. Lovely item of mail with the Indo-Chine entry indicating the mail would have been routed by Pondichery.
