French Colonies. (Guadeloupe - Martinique). 1879. Envelope addressed to Saint Pierre, Martinique bearing French General Colonies Yvert 17, 5c green (2) and Yvert 19, 15c bistre tied by 'Paq. Fr./ Pointe-a-Pitre date stamp '9th Janv 79', endorsed "Guyane" and sent via St. Thomas on the French paquebot "Guyane". Very fine item of French West Indies inter-island mail with scarce French General Colonies imperf stamps.
Five cent Ceres fine four margins and 15c bistre (gros chiffres) just touched on bottom.
