French Colonies. (French Congo). 1894. French Congo postal stationery envelope 15c blue upgraded with Yvert 4a, 5c on 25c black/ rose (strip of five) surcharge "COngo", Yvert 13, 2c brown and Yvert 14, 4c lilac/ blue (pair) tied by Libreville/ Congo dates stamp '25th Juin 94' with hand-struck framed 'R', addressed to Germany sent via French paquebot with octagonal 'Loango a Bordeaux L.L. No 2' date stamp in blue on face dated '7th Juil' (Salles 1212) with Paris/ Chargements in red on face '3rd Aout.' Very fine and attractive franking paying the 50c registration rate.
A wonderful item with scarce surcharge error.
