Air Mail envelope addressed to New York bearing Inini Yvert 21, 1f 50 blue, Yvert 26, 5f violet and green and Yvert 27, 10f olive and blue tied by St. Elie/ Territoire de Inini date stamp '7th May 41', routed via Cayenne '8/5' with circular 'Controle Postal/ Guyane Francaise' on reverse, intercepted in Trinidad with 'Opened by Examiner 94' label with hand-struck 'May 12 1941' in violet on face.
Inini was an inland territory of French Guiana administered separately between 6 June 1930 and 19 March 1946 after which all of French Guiana became a department of France.
