Registered envelope addressed to France bearing Vathy Yvert 5, 10c black/lilac, Yvert 6, 15c blue and Yvert 7, 1p on 25c black/rose tied by Vathy/Samps double ring in blue '21st Dec' with hand-struck 'R' , routed via Marseille with Eclaron receiver '29th Dec 96' on reverse. Registered mail from the French Post Office on Vathy, Samos is very rare. As this covers shows in December 1896 only two items of registered mail had been sent.
