Envelope addressed to Beirut, Syria cancelled by London meter '24th Dec 42' with 'Opened by Examiner/ 4884' censor tape, Beyrouth arrival with circular 'Free French' (Cross C/P) double strike, returned to London but bearing French Syria postage dues Yvert 32, 0pi 50 black/ yellow, Yvert 33, 1p black/ blue and Yvert 35, 3p black/ yellow tied by circular 'Postes & Telegraphes' receiver '3rd May 43' on reverse and forwarded back to London and censored again on arrival with 'Opened by Examiner/ 1563' censor label.
