Stamp-less folded letter written from Smyrne dated '31st Dec 1833' addressed to Amsterdam, rated '140' in m/s and routed via Marseille with transit '12th Feb 1834' with hand-stamp 'Puriffiee a Marseille' on reverse with disinfection slits and forwarded endorsed 'Recue L' Achemnie par Escalon' with hand-struck 'L.F.R.5' on face in carmine (Lettre Francaise Rayon 5) and boxed 'Duitsch - Grensk/ te Arnham 'in red (Van der Linden 997) and hand-struck 'Frankryk/ Over Arnhem' (Van der Linden 1523) on reverse with Amsterdam arrival '21st Feb' on reverse.
