Gold Coast. (Internment Camp Mail). 1939. Air Mail envelope addressed to 'Accra, Internment Camp, Gold Coast ' bearing Germany 20pf turquoise and 25pf blue tied by Berlin double ring '18th Nov 39', stamped 'Postverkehr Eingestellt' (Service Suspended) and 'Postsperre' (Postal Bolckade) with large cross hand-stamp to cancel address, all instructions to 'Return' have been deleted, the cover has then been forwarded with German censor and re-sealed with currency contole labels, routed on 'Air Littoria via Rome and Cairo with 'Opened by British Censor / 1703' label with framed 'Passed by censor / Gold Coast / 10' hand-stamp on face in carmine. The cover was forwarded as the addressed was an interned German national.
