Air Mail envelope addressed to French Morocco bearing Afrique Equatoriale Francaise Yvert 60, 5f green and Yvert 147, 1f lilac/ cerise (2) tied by Carnot/ Congo Francaise double ring '19th Aout 42, routed via Bangui/ Oubangui Chari '3q1st Aug' with circular 'Controle Postal/ Congo Francaise' cachet (under label) and 'Controle Postal/ Commission E/ Afrique Equatoriale Francaise' circular censor with blank censor tape tied by oval 'Ouvert/ Par L' Autorite Militaire' and circular 'E/ 1', routed via Gold Coast with 'Gold Coast/ Opened By Censor' label and framed 'Passed by Censor/ Gold Coast/ 10' in blue on reverse, routed via London with continuous '(Crown) Opened by Examiner/ 9225/ PC 90' and 'Correo Aereo/ Madrid transit '26th Oct 42'.
A wonderful item of mail, censored in 5 countries with scarce British censor Type 2, only 12 examples recorded by Morenweiser in the period October to December 1942.
