Envelope written from 'Metropole Internment Camp, House 3, Douglas I.O.M.' headed 'Red Cross Postal Message Scheme' addressed to 'Comite International de la Croix Rouge, Palais du Conseil General, Geneva, Switzerland' with oval 'Metropole Interment Camp/ Douglas I.O.M.' oval hand-stamp in violet, endorsed 'The Postal Censorship, Edge Lane, Liverpool' with 'Opened by Examiner 5544' censor tape bearing Great Britain SG 466, 2 1/2d blue tied by Liverpool date stamp. The Camp was situated on the Queen's Promenade and housed Italian males. The cachet is only recorded by Whitney in black.
