Stamp-less envelope written from Liverpool dated '1st Nov 1857' addressed to Spain cancelled by 'Liverpool/ Paid' in red with London transit, circular 'PP' in red on face, rated '8' in m/s (ship-letter), endorsed 'via France' and 'Paquebot Victoria', French entry cachet and charged '4R' in blue with hand-struck 'MP' (Medio-Porte) in blue on reverse (showing the cover was allowed at Printed Matter rate) and Cadiz arrival '11th Nov'. A very attractive cover showing the scarce Medio-Porte mark.
