Envelope addressed to New York bearing 'Embossed' SG 54, 1s pale green (imperf) tied by '447' bat obliterator with Leeds double arc in blue on reverse 'Jan 25 1850', endorsed 'per "Europe" Steamer via Liverpool' with Liverpool lozange 'L/ Jan 26' on reverse (Robertson Fig B), bold hand-struck 'Paid' in red and charged '5 cents' in red on face.
The '5 cents' is an accountancy credit hand-stamp being the U.S. share of postage for inland delivery.
