Registered envelope addressed to Syra bearing Yvert 182, 5l green (3) and Yvert 183, 10l carmine (pair) tied by Amorgos (Telegraph Office) date stamp '11th Nov 18' with framed 'Registered' and 'Opened by Censor/ 5' label tied by framed 'Passed Aegean/ Postal Censor/ Syra'.
Lovely item with British censor on Syros implemented in December 1916 under the control of 'Captain C. Mackenzie R.M.' who was head of British Intelligence in the Aegean with three censors drafted in from Egypt.
