Envelope addressed to France bearing Guatemala Yvert 13, 4r violet tied by star obliterator in blue with adjacent octagonal 'Correos/Guatemala' date stamp in red 'Feb 15 1881' , underpaid with circular 'T' hand-stamp and charged with hand-struck '10' on face in blue, 'Paris/ Etranger' receiver 24/3' and Chalamont arrival '25th Mars 1881' on reverse.
Very rare early Pre U.P.U. from Guatemala to France paying the 4 reales carried via the Isthmus of Panama to Kingston, Jamaica and Danish West Indies, rated '10; in France with tax hand-stamp in blue.
