Hong Kong. (Treaty Ports). 1884. Envelope addressed to New York bearing Hong Kong SG 9, 4c grey and SG 11, 8c yellow/ orange tied by B/ 62 obliterator with adjacent Hong Kong date stamp 'Sp 9 78', endorsed 'per S.S. Beleji' with San Francisco transit 'Oct 11' in face and New York receiver 'Oct 14' on reverse. Short lived twelve cent rate to the United States after Hong Kong joined the UPU 1st April 1877 with the rate being reduced to 10c on 1st March 79.
