Scarce Field Post office 3 opened at Hyams Gardens, Avenue Haig, Shanghai 23rd April 1927. In January 1927 mobs supported by Cantonese and elements of the Nationalists Army attacked the British Consulate in Nanking and other interests in Shanghai prompting British and Indian Troops to send units to Shanghai and Tientsin.
