Hong Kong. (Singapore - India Ship Letter). 1837. Pre-stamp envelope written from 'E.D. Otavie & Co, Canton' addressed to London, rated '1/2d', routed via Singapore and India with oval 'Forwarded By/ J. Balestier/ Singapore' on reverse in blue-green, landed at Weymouth with framed 'India Letter/ Weymouth' in orange on reverse (Robertson In 1). Lovely item charged India sea postage 4d and Inland Weymouth to London 8d. Total due 1/2d.
India Letter Weymouth in red is scarce as only used between 1836-1839.
