Envelope addressed to London bearing French General Colonies 'Eagle' Yvert 5, 40c orange and Yvert 6, 80c rose tied by dotted lozenge with adjacent Inde/ Pondichery double ring '9th Mars 69' with boxed 'PD', routed via Suez with octagonal 'Et. Fr. Inde V.S. P.F. Amb. Mar' in red '6th Avril' (Salles 1887) and London/ Paid on face '8th Ap 69'. A very fine 'Eagle' cover from the French Settlement in Pondichery to England an unusual destination.
