Envelope addressed to France bearing French General Colonies 'Eagle' Yvert 5, 40c orange (imperf pair) tied by dotted lozenge with adjacent Inde/ Pondichery double ring '26th Aout 65' with boxed 'PD' endorsed 'Per Steamer/ via Madras & Marseille' routed via Suez with 'Col. Fra. V. Suez. Amb V' French entry cachet in red '28th Sept' (Salles 1861) and Toulouse arrival on reverse. Very fine cover from the French Settlement in Pondichery.
