India. (Austria - P.O.W. Camp Mail). 1943. Letter dated '10th April 1943' addressed to 'J. Antosch, No 55514, Internment Camp Deoli Ajmer), c/o G.P.O. Bombay, British India' with hand-stamp 'DHP/ 118' censor in violet and endorsed '1st October 1943' the date received. Letter has been censored.
Josef Antosch (German) had been taken P.O.W. in the Dutch East Indies and interned in Alas Vallei Camp, Sumatra before being transferred to various camps in British India. His wife and children had been in Salatiga Protection Camp for women and children before being sent on the "S.S. Jumper" via North China to Japan.
