Lovely item of destination mail from Chandernagor, French Possession in India to this small French Pacific island.
Chandernagor became part of the French Empire in 1696, one of five enclaves, Pondichery, Karikal, Yanon, Mahe and Chandernagor, after India became independent from Britain in 1947 the French allowed its residents to become part of India and in 1954interagated into the state of West Bengal.
